I have some of my collages in the permanent collection of the Musee du ArtColle in Plemet, France. Their permanent collection is on display in August 2011. Here’s more about the museum.
Museum Artcolle Art Collage Assemblage
In the world there is a unique museum opening at public where we can discover the art of collage (the art that makes a challenge with painting, dixit Louis Aragon!) and assemblage, photomontage and collage digital. Across the Artcolle collection representing masters of this art: Prévert, Kolar, Dorny, Touchon, Talbot, Copeland, Mandeville, Villeglé, Fitzia, Fulham, Coaquette, Dorny, Pasquier, Athouel, Voré, Ratti, Modi… and with collage-artists from more than 23 countries around the world. Many documents, extract from the 11,000 documents that we can find at the Documentation Center on the art of collage, videos, books, etc.
Every month during the year, we organize workshops on collage techniques; programme and schedules are on the Artcolle web site. Created in 1992 by Pierre Jean Varet, each year, Artcolle is the official organizer of the International Contemporary Collage exhibition in Paris. On an exhibition space of 1200 square feet, you will see 150 collage-works made by 110 artists from more than 23 foreigh countries.
Artcolle is also organizer or co-organizer of many exhibitions dedicated to the art of collage. Since 1992 we were implicated in more than 150 collage exhibitions in France or in countries around the world. Artcolle is also present in many cultural manifestations in schools, hospitals and cultural centers. We have representatives in 12 foreigh countries in the 5 continents, and we are in contact with more than 2500 collage-artists from around the world.
